It is not possible to change the name of your network.
That said, it's recognized there are circumstances that necessitate a name modification (for example, in the event of company acquisition). In these select cases, we suggest utilizing a workaround that entails exporting current data, then using it to replicate your existing setup in a new network.
This approach will cause minor disruption to your network users, as it requires all users to sign in to Zello with the new network name.
Part One: Exporting Data from your Old Network
- 1. Sign in to the admin management console at [original_network_name].zellowork.com.
- 2. Select "Export your network data" under the Network Overview section of the homepage.
- 3. Assign the file an archive password. Then click Proceed.
Please Note: Multiple export files can be downloaded from a network, but you'll be required to assign a unique password to each one. Ensure you take note of the files and their corresponding passwords for later use.
- 4. Allow the export file's download to complete before proceeding to the next step.
Part Two: Import Your Existing Data into a New Network
- 1. Create your new Zello Work network. Under "Your Private Network Name," enter the new preferred name for your network, then select Continue.
Tip: When creating a new network, you won't be able to register with the exact email address utilized for the original network's creation. To circumvent this problem, add "+1" to your email address's unique identifier.
For example: if your email is myemail@zello.com, sign up with the address myemail+1@zello.com. All emails will be sent to your original email address. - 2. From your new network's admin management console, select "import your network data" under the home screen's Network Overview section.
-
3. Click Choose a file to select the .zip file downloaded in Part 1. Then, enter the file's associated archive password, and click Import network.
Please note: The entire .zip file must be uploaded at this point. If you attempt to upload the extracted .csv file, an error message reading "Failed to parse archive" will appear.
- 4. The browser page will automatically refresh upon successful import.
Part Three: Update your Billing Information
First responders — please email paidsupport@zello.com to transfer ZeFFR status to your new network.
-
1. Sign in to the old (incorrectly named) network as the admin user: originalnetworkname.zellowork.com
- 2. Select Billing from the console's top toolbar. Scroll to the Billing Plan section at the bottom of the page and select "Delete my account." You'll receive an email confirming the change.
-
3. Sign in to your new Zello Work network as an admin user: newnetworkname.zellowork.com
- 4. Select Upgrade from the console's top toolbar. Choose your intended Zello Work package, then select Enter Payment Details to complete your subscription.
Part Four: What is carried over?
Not every detail from your existing network is replicated when that data is imported into a new network.

- Channel list, including membership and channel roles.
