Zello is compatible with some BlueParrott button-enabled devices. This means that the BlueParrott button can be used as the PTT button while Zello is in the background, foreground, or when the screen is locked.
BlueParrot models compatible with Zello
Before purchasing a headset, make sure it's one of the devices listed below and that it comes with a BlueParrott button. Older versions of the device’s firmware will not work with Zello; newer versions will. You may also be able to update your devices using the BlueParrott App.

How to add the BlueParrott button to Zello
Recommended Setup: Method One
If you run into any issues with device connectivity after setting up the BlueParrott button this way, remove the button from the Push-to-Talk buttons list in the Zello app and follow Method Two instead.
Note: These steps will only work on Zello v4.62 and newer. Please ensure that your Zello application is up-to-date before proceeding.
1. Using the manufacturer's instructions, pair the BlueParrott headset with your phone.

2. Open the Zello app menu.

- On Android: 3 vertical dots at the top right of the screen
- on iOS: the app drawer from the top left of the screen
3. Select Options.
4.Select Push-to-talk buttons.
5. Open the Add Button screen.

- On Android: Tap the Add (+) icon at the bottom right corner.
- On iOS: click “Add New Device”.
6. When prompted, press the button on the BlueParrott headset to use as the PTT button.
7. Test the button by using it to send a message to the 'Echo' contact.
Method Two
1. Using the manufacturer's instructions, pair the BlueParrott headset with your phone.

2. Download the BlueParrott App.
3.Open the BlueParrott App.
4. From the app drawer, select BlueParrott (BlueParrott Button on iOS) and wait for the app to recognize your headset. Note: you may need to have Location on for this to work properly.
5. Once the app has verified your headset, you will automatically be taken to the “BlueParrott Button” menu.
6. Select Compatible Apps.
7. Select Zello and click “Confirm Customization”.
8. Add the BlueParrott button to Zello using these instructions. On Android, the button is paired automatically.
9. Test the button by using it to send a message to the 'Echo' contact.
