From the management console's Settings page, admins can establish parameters for history storage on user devices across their network. These settings are configured depending on device operating system, and include options such as enabling or disabling history on devices; setting parameters for users' configuration capabilities of device history; and determining the number of messages stored in a device's history. 

Please note: Protecting history will prevent users from deleting history from their device. Enabling history means messages received on a device will be saved in either the SD card of built in data storage, and disabling it means messages will not be saved.

These settings do not affect Message Vault, which is accessible exclusively through the management console by admins.
