Network admins can control local history for users' devices via the management console. These settings are configured based on platform, and when established from the management console, will be globally applied across the network.
When considering your network's history settings, please remember the following:
- If you'd like to disable history on iOS and Android devices, change the Automatically delete messages setting to Right Away. By default, local history is enabled.
Please note: If your network utilizes Zello Work's Message Vault feature, messages will be saved on the cloud, even if local history is disabled. Those messages will exclusively be accessible to network admins.
- Enabling local history means messages will be saved either on the in-use device's SD card or built-in data storage. Disabling local history means messages received on a device aren't saved on that device.
- If you enable the Protect History setting, users will not be able to delete their history.
- Individual users can control some history settings from their device. On iOS, this includes when messages are deleted and if images sent over Zello are saved to their device's photos. On Android, this includes when messages are deleted; the voice storage size; and the image storage size.
- If messages are deleted from a user's device unexpectedly, it's likely they're reaching their device's maximum storage limit. Learn More.
